My Girls!!!

It was a happy and joyous reunion on Tuesday!!! I got to have lunch with my favorite girls (and friend) Reese Elizabeth and Finley Grace!! Finley is SO precious and SO adorable! Sarah looked like she has never had any kids and Reese....too cute for words! Sarah's mom joined us as well and it was so good to see her. It was the best lunch. My only wish was that it would have lasted all day!!! I miss my girls already!!! I can't wait for them to move back to Iowa!!

Middle of April?!

It has been a whirlwind month!! Jack is already a month old and I love him more and more every day! He has added to my already busy weeks because I have to stop over to Matt and Lauren's at least one time during the week just to see him (and Matt and Lauren!)!  We've had two showers back to back...we have a break this weekend and then my family's shower the following weekend.

Lord willing I get to have lunch with Sarah, Reese and Finley tomorrow!!!! I can NOT wait!! I can't wait to catch up with Sarah, love on Reese and meet the new girl in my life...Finley Grace!!! I will definitely be posting pictures of that reunion!

It is 5:30 and I want out of here! It is a beautiful day (finally) and I want to go for a bike ride! I have posted pictures of Jack below...I just can't resist!

his past weekend I took my small group girls to Chicago and we had a BLAST!  We left Thursday after work (yes I took Friday off!) and came back Saturday night so we could go to church yesterday. I had reserved a hotel outside the city but on Wednedsay night I decided to try priceline to see if I could get a good deal. I entered in $50 a night for downtown Chicago and I GOT IT! We stayed at the 4 star Hyatt Regency...Michigan Ave was the adjacent block and you could see Navy Pier 1/2 mile out our window! It was perfect!

We got in around 1am on Thursday night (or should I say Friday morning) and watch the movie Step Up from my laptop. On Friday (after sleeping in a little ) we took our time shopping Michigan Ave and walking Navy Pier. I wanted to take them up Sear's Tower but it was SO gloomy you couldn't even see the top. Despite the on again off again rain...we had a great time. Our feet hurt and we were exhausted by the end of the day.

Saturday we woke up and were going to go to the Shedd Aquariurm but since we got started late...we decided to skip it and go to the outlets instead that were outside downtown Chicago. We shopped around there and headed back. I think one of the best times of the trip was singing in the car at the top of our lungs!

You will see a couple pictures of our trip below as well as more pictures of Jack. He is two weeks tomorrow! MY how time flies! He is my little peanut...with so much hair! Matt and Lauren got his pictures taken at Target last week...OH MY WORD. I cried they were so good!

I am looking forward to this weekend...first weekend free in a long time! PTL!!

Jack Edward Pedersen

He's here! My little nephew has arrived a month early!! Jack graced us with his presence on Tuesday, March 13th at 7:55am. He was 5lbs 10oz 19 1/2 inches. Lauren started contractions at 4 am but she didn't realize it...she thought they were Braxton Hicks. Well that kept getting stronger and by the time they arrived at the hospital at 7:20 she was dialated to 9 cm! (Sarah sound familiar?!)

He is just perfect. I can't stop looking at him...I just want to memorize his face knowing that pretty much every time I see him he will look different as they change so much. My brother is the cutest dad. He is so hands on...I am so proud of him. It has been a joy to watch both Matt and Lauren.

They came home on Thursday, March 15th...Matt's birthday. :) It is still so hard to believe he is here...just so unexpected. Never did we think he would be here in March! Pictures are below. My dad has the cutest picture of him without his hat. He has so much hair...I will try and get that from him to send later!

Just a couple hours after Jack was born!

Where has the time gone?!

I can't believe that it is March 8th!! A week from today will be the middle of March!! Time is just FLYING by. Lauren (my sister-in-law) sends out weekly updates on how her preganancy is coming along. I really enjoy and look forward to them. She informed us this week that the doctor said if she went into labor, they wouldn't stop it!! AHHH!! It really hit me yesterday that our family, as we know it, is going to change. Not that it is a bad change, it is just a little crazy to think how fast the months have passed. I feel like I still want time with Matt and Lauren before they are parents.... At the same time I can't believe my BROTHER is going to be a DAD!!! OH MY WORD!! My exhausted brain can't handle it all!! Needless to say, I am REALLY looking forward to it.

I think one of the reasons time is flying by is because I have had (and will continue to have) something going on every weekend from Feb 16th-March30th!!! (with the exception of one weekend off...Feb 23rd due to massive snow and ice storms in Iowa...what's new?)
Feb 16 - Youth Winter Meltdown
Feb 23 - SNOW STORM!!
Mar 1 - Tallahassee Conference
Mar 9 - Youth Ski Trip
Mar 16 - Becca Brummel in IOWA AND Lauren's baby shower in KC!
Mar 23 - Chicago with my small group girls

I missed last weekend's blizzard where we had 56 mph winds, snow everywhere and all our interstates shut down!! (Which NEVER happens!) I missed it because I was in FLORIDA! Yes FLORIDA!!!  Although it was all work and no play...

We (work) had a conference there last weekend. We left on Thursday morning at 7am and missed the snow storm, but we DIDN'T miss all the other weather activity. The pilot deverted our route to Memphis to miss what he could of all the weather going on across the country. Thus missing our connecting flight to Tallahassee by 5 mins! The plane was right in front of our very eyes and they would NOT let us on the plane!! We had to stand in the longest line (which at first had ONE attendant running customer service) to book another flight. We got put on stand by on the next flight to Tallahassee which was 2:40pm, we arrived in Memphis at 9:30am. We would arrive into Tallahassee at 5:30 with an event that night at 7pm!!! AHHH!!! As we waited, tornados hit Memphis and the power went out. We had everyone we know PRAYING that we made it on the flight, that the lights would come back on and that the tornados wouldn't hit the airport!!

God was (and is) good. The electricty came back on and we made it on the 2:40 flight! (Only because a plane was delayed getting into Memphis due to weather...so what "hurt" us, "helped" us in the long run!) We arrrive at the church at 6:50pm! Praise the Lord the volunteer team we were training that night were gracious. Normally we have the entire place set up and ready to go by the time they arrived...most of them arrived before we did!!

The conference was great...tiring, but great. The weather was WONDERFUL, even though I never got to really "enjoy" it. I DID get to wear flip flops and have the sunroof back and the windows down the entire weekend...all while the blizzard was raging on at home...so I had no complaints!

After being there (and my recent schedule) I would really like to take a trip to Florida (or some place warm). I don't know who I can ask to go with me (who wants to go by themselves?), everyone I know is married or having a baby!! Maybe I have to accept the fact that I may not get to go....

Alright, I have transcribed enough! I need to go back for the ski trip this weekend...pray I don't break any bones!

Megan, I am praying for you, Sam and James. I love your updates...let's connect one of these days!
Sarah, I am praying for you! I pray you are adjusting. I pray you are getting sleep. I pray Reese is adjusting. Let's connect soon too!  Love you both very much!
